WET FELTING

Learn the basics of wet felting, layout of wool, embellishments and more to create a unique piece of art. Wet felting is a physical process that involves the wetting and agitation of wool fibers to create a piece of fabric. It takes a bit of effort, but the results are always stunning!

Create a unique piece of art! This introduction to wet felting with a resist offers the basics of wet felting, layout of wool, embellishments and more.

 

Wet felting is a physical process that involves the wetting and agitation of wool fibers to create a piece of fabric. Wet felting on a resist allows for making 3D sculptural pieces. It takes a bit of effort, but the results are always stunning!

NUNO FELT

INTRO

​

Create a lightweight and warm Nuno felt scarf!  Nuno felting is the technique of laminating wool onto a woven fabric such as silk or cotton.  The wet felting process requires water, soap and agitation.  In Nuno felt, the wool fibers migrate through the fabric and lock together creating a lightweight fabric.  Design possibilities are endless!   

Note; Wet felting is a laborious process. Be prepared to stand for extended periods.

NEEDLE FELTING

Pounce, poke and stab! These foundation classes are designed for student success as you learn the properties of sculpting with wool and a needle. Tips and techniques learned in the following classes will enable students to create a multitude of other projects limited only by imagination.

NEEDLE FELT

CACTI

These cute cacti are fun, easy to make and require no water! This is the ultimate foundations class. Learn the basics of sculpting with wool, creating cores  shapes, detail techniques, blending color, finishing and more. This foundations class is perfect for beginners as we make a cactus pad, barrel cactus and 7 leaf rosette, each with its own mini terra-cotta pot and pebbles.

HOLIDAY SUGAR COOKIES!

​

Needle felt these delicious holiday ornaments perfect for the tree or for gifting.  Sugar Cookie ornaments are quick to make and great for beginners. You can felt up a batch in no time.  This foundations class offers techniques in flat felting to create thin yet sturdy shapes with smooth edges and detail.

NEEDLE FELT

PUMPKINS

 

Create a bouquet of everlasting spring flowers with a needle and some wool. Great for beginners, this foundations class offers the basic techniques needed to create flowers in a variety of shapes and colors. You can put your flowers on a stem or create brooches, hair clips, magnets and more!

EVERLASTING WILDFLOWERS

WIDE EYED OWL ORNAMENT

Create a whimsical owl! These little woodland creatures are super fun and easy to create. This is a foundations class where you will learn to needle felt a solid core, sculpt flat felt, detail techniques along with wispy brows to bring out the unique personality of each owl.

SLEEPY GNOME ORNAMENT

These sleepy little guys are so fun to create with their full beards and slouchy hats.   This is a foundations class where you will learn to needle felt a solid core, apply detail techniques and blend colors to create a hat to top it off.

Classes geared towards the young artisan! Youth ages six and up can experiment with a variety of projects.

I also offer a variety of classes geared towards the young artisan.

 

Classes are one hour in duration and cost is 15.00 per student with all materials provided. 

 

Classes are perfect for scouts, after- school groups and homeschoolers.
